Data Engineer (f/m) for MoneyMap

MoneyMap is an international FinTech startup of FinLeap, a company-builder based in Berlin. MoneyMap is the first digital financial aid that automatically reduces “running” costs. Our engine recognizes contracts in your account movements, compares tarifs and reveals where you spend too much money and helps you to switch suppliers and to cancel in order to save costs. To make MoneyMap successful, we focus on user-centered design, data protection and data security.

The amount of data, as well as its diversity and complexity, is steadily increasing in context of digitalization. As a result, statistical data analyses are becoming increasingly important. Our current challenge is to  build the core infrastructure and pipeline capabilities needed to keep data and information flowing into the models. Within this scope we are looking for a Data Engineer. 

Your tasks

  • As part of our advanced analytics team, your core activity is the preparation and provision of transactional and account-based data using data mining and multivariate analytical methods
  • You design, build and integrate data from various resources and manage big data
  • You develop your own database queries and you are responsible for verifying the data
  • Help us scale a complex machine learning data pipeline
  • You monitor and maintain production machine learning data pipelines

 Your profile

  • You enjoy analyzing large amounts of transaction data
  • You have at least 2 years of professional experience and good know-how in the field of data engineering and data modelling
  • Ideally, you have already gained initial experience with bank-related data (for example, a bank or a savings & loan)
  • You gained first experience in data warehousing, OLAP databases, business intelligence and reporting tools, as well as in the preparation and analysis of large data (big data)
  • You are fluent in German (B2 level or better) and English and have fun working in cross-functional, international teams
  • It would be nice if you would be familiar with Analytics software like R, SPSS Modeller, SAS Enterprise Miner, SAS Stat or comparable products from other manufacturers, MySQL
  • Ideally you already gained first knowledge in the application of multivariate statistics, the methods and procedures of data mining and the development of prediction models
